Who is Lucie Canuel?

Hello, my name is Lucie Canuel and I am a psychoeducator and a member of my professional order and I have graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke since 1989. After, I completed my training in administration at the Université du Québec In Montreal with a certificate in human resources management (1990), a master's degree in business administration (MBA 1992), a diploma of advanced studies in mental health (2011) and a microprogram in legal psychology (2017) .

I started my career in counseling, over twenty-five years ago. All my experiences were in intervention with the youth served by the Youth Centers of various regions. I have held various positions such as educator, department head, head of group rehabilitation service and since 1997, I own intermediary contractual resources for the Youth Center.

First, in 1997, I opened a "Supervised Apartments" contractual resource for 14 adolescents between the ages of 16 and 18 for the montreal’s youth center. Then, in 1998, I opened another "group home" contractual resource for 10 boys between the ages of 6 and 12 for the Montreal Youth Center. In 2005, I opened my third "group home" contractual resource for 9 children for the Monteregie Youth Center. This clientele has evolved in terms of age; First between 5 and 9 years, then between 6 and 12 years and at the end between 8 and 14 years. This resource closed its doors on July 15, 2016. In 2017, I obtained two new contracts for the CIUSSS West (Batshaw), two group residences for 9 users. One located in Lachine for the 16-18 years and a second in Ville Saint-Laurent for the 14-18 years.

On a personal level, I have been married with an exceptional spouse for over 25 years and have four wonderful children.

My children, like those whom I accompany during their stay in one of my resources, are at the heart of my life!

One of my great strengths is knowing how to surround myself with valuable collaborators who ensure the best quality possible for both the children and the teenagers we welcome. You can find them under the intermediate resource tab.
